We invite you to submit your best ideas to develop a solution to address the needs of the elderly living alone.

The prizes.


The top three entries will earn a Certificate of Recognition and will be entitled for free participation (workshop registration and food) during DeW 2014. They will also be allowed to present their designs and solutions.

All selected entries will earn a Certificate of Participation and will be exhibited during the workshop.


Cash prizes worth Rs. 30,000 are to be won.


Judgement criteria:


Each entry will be judged by a panel of experts based on the following criteria:

    Creativity,
    Originality,
    Usability,
    Human factor consideration,
    Manufacturing feasibility,
    Cost, and
    Presentation

*The judges' decision will be final and no correspondence can be entered into regarding the marking, critique or merits of individual entries or winners. However, we welcome feedback on the Student Design Challenge in general.
